Xietongqing was a special exchange shop in Chinese bank business. It was founded in 1856 the 6th Year of Xianfeng's reign and was closed in 1913 the second Year of the Republic of China. The bank's owners were Family Wang from Niedian Yuci and Family Mi from Wangzhi Pingyao. At the beginning the primary capital was silver 36,000 liang (1 liang = 50 grams) of 12 shares. Each share was 3,000 liang. The total capital at its middle term was more than 120,000 liang and later increased to 240,000 liang together with a collective accumulation fund of 400,000 liang. The bank's general headquarter was based in west of Nanda street downtown of Pingyao city. It covers a total area of 2800 square meters.
