英文版译得不错。禁忌之恋很有震撼力，但是性虐部分表示理解不能。

其实没有怎么懂作者想表达什么，也不知道怎么以女权主义解读，要收当时有去听课就好了……但这个版本的封面还挺好看的。

是女性作家的作品不感讶异，把常人以为羞耻的、难以启齿的感情、恋情写出来，是令人欣赏的坦白的勇气。语言非常地感官，如和翻译家相处的各种细节，地毯，围巾那块血渍的质感，“我”在各种体验下的感受（如看到没舌头如黑洞般的侄子的眩晕，躲在橱柜中窒息感等）可触摸的小说，有阅读小说该有的愉悦感之一种。老阳说译本应当损失了不少语言的乐趣，日语言将更精于表达精细感受——至少英译是流畅可读的。但结局和某些情节（如和侄子突然擦出火花）略显粗糙，SM尚能接受，但类似家暴的狂躁和欢愉，就很难有共鸣。整书最后一句好，All the found were endless rolls of film filled with pictures of me.

3.5/5 Ogawa's tale of a dark and twisted tryst is as titillating much as it is repulsive. The fact that the kleptomaniac and the masochist connive to keep their shameful secrets from surfacing places abnormal psycho-sexual behaviour in the centre of the 'human condition'. As usual, Ogawa hides menacing undercurrents beneath picturesque settings.
