《走到镜子里》是《爱丽思漫游奇境》的姊妹篇，商务印书馆1988年曾将其改名《爱丽思漫游镜中世界》出版，今回复原译名。本书讲述了爱丽思漫游镜中世界的种种遭遇。故事的主线是一盘已在下的国际象棋，主人公和他的两只小猫都成为棋子，在棋盘般的麦田里漫游，和其他棋子们发生各种各样的关系。爱丽思最终克服种种磨难，变成了皇后。在这个想象的空间里，不仅时间颠倒，而且空间错位，令人产生无限的遐想。 As Alice steps through the looking glass she enters a world of magical creatures and impossible logic where nursery rhymes and chess pieces come alive, meeting Humpty Dumpty, Tweedledum and Tweedledee and the White Knight, among others. She learns about running fast enough to stay in the same place, why there is never jam today and about the importance of believing six impossible after breakfast. In fact, as she sets out on her quest to become a Queen of the Chess Board, it is not surprising that Alice becomes confused as to who is dreaming at all.
