原來不完全是醫學史。藉由研究煙草,一方面討論近代早期中國如何進入全球化的世界裡,另一方面討論消費文化在過去五百年的延續性。寫的相當好。像這樣找一個明確的主題,然後把其中複雜的方方面面都融成一本書,3或許是個好的取徑。

很好的阐述了continuity的问题,但是问的问题not interesting,好多重复,a little dehistoricized and much depoliticized
