    Douglas试图向Larry和Sergey阐述品牌建设的意义,但Larry坚持认为品牌的意义在于“让用户在你的表现弱于竞争对手时仍然选择你”,所以Larry的意见是:品牌建设就是浪费钱,如果我们弱于对手,我们就已经输了;如果我们比对手好,我们干嘛要建设品牌? Douglas在开会时劝说各位工程师:技术优势容易赶上,所以我们都在同一起平线,所以我们要搞品牌推广……话音一落他发现整个会议室都安静了,然后他就知道自己犯了一个不可饶恕...   (2回应)

    With everyone expressing opinions about everything, I had to speak louder and more insistently lest my voice be lost in the din. Apparently other people felt the same way. We held robust dialogues 看来中国人和美国人都是一样一样的啊,每个人都试图用大嗓门表达自己的观点。从更广泛的意义来说,大嗓门就变成AK47了。

    Don't be evil 谷歌很早就遇到了“谁给的钱多就提高谁的搜索排名”的道德困境。这实在不能不让人联想到谷歌在国内的同行。其实也不能责怪他们,以国内的环境,有哪个试图建立起道德体系,立刻就会陷入困境
