很小一本小书,两个下午在图书馆翻完。限于篇幅,论证无法展开,严谨性低于预期。大量引用心理学的研究,但其中有些观点无法认同,尤其是personality这个章节。可能为了趣味性,轶事较多。在阅读过程中,有时候要怀疑作者提前预设了很多自己的立场。就genius这个概念而言,书中定义为:an individual who demonstrates exceptional intellectual or creative powers, whether inborn or acquired (or both). 借此,全书大部分时候都是在讨论创造力(creativity). 总结收获:要有超常的表现,相关因素有智力、性格、一段时间的孤独以及可以参考十年法则,这意味着激情、决心、练习等。
