比起另一本欧美人写日本料理的《米,面,鱼》来说,作者并没有一味地吹捧日料,好歹还是加入了一些自己的见解的。比如写和牛的最后一段,作者对牛肉是否有必要做到如此地入口即化而失去了肉味的做法提出了质疑:这可是吃动物肉啊,又不是吃冰激凌。

手上的是2016年的美国版,叫super sushi ramen express。购于东京成田机场书店,旅行后看这种书是最有共鸣的时候,就好比听完音乐会看第二天的乐评一样。

虽然十分嫉妒第一次去日本就实现了我用三个月时间从北海道浪到冲绳梦想的作者,但是感觉作为西方人在此之前对日本了解寥寥的情况下这本书只能算日本食物的入门书,大部分内容都算不上特别惊奇所以看起来很简单。真希望今年有机会去日本浪啊!
