有点失望，啰里八嗦的，行文结构和文笔都缺少特色，就胜在一个全字。

佩服作者的写作能力，人类对癌症的胜利或许不是找到最终的解药，而是能够延长患者的生命，不必在老去之前就失去生命……看到格列卫因为资本不看好的原因被搁置了五年还是感慨万千，感谢有一些坚持到底的医生。

本书按照癌症的历史，治疗，预防，科研等分成若干部分，由很多小故事组成，中间穿插以作者本人的经历。这种模块化的写作方式有利于简化癌症这个复杂的题目。但问题是各个部分间缺乏联系，很多故事的时代背景薄弱，难以帮助读者在整体上把握这个题目。另外本书过于依赖二手资料和既有的观点，作者本人对癌症和病人的直接观察本应是出彩的地方，但是分散各处并不系统。最后行文略显拖沓，这个好像是美国人（科学家？）的通病。总之，... 本书按照癌症的历史，治疗，预防，科研等分成若干部分，由很多小故事组成，中间穿插以作者本人的经历。这种模块化的写作方式有利于简化癌症这个复杂的题目。但问题是各个部分间缺乏联系，很多故事的时代背景薄弱，难以帮助读者在整体上把握这个题目。另外本书过于依赖二手资料和既有的观点，作者本人对癌症和病人的直接观察本应是出彩的地方，但是分散各处并不系统。最后行文略显拖沓，这个好像是美国人（科学家？）的通病。总之，本书生动，全面，但是不够系统，深刻，和简洁。做一本入门书还算合格，但是难以让人形成深刻的印象。 (展开)
