A Feast for Crows·
【2023Book05】"A Feast for Crows," the fourth volume of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. Some videos mentioned that many people feel this volume is not as exciting as the previous three volumes, but I don't see it this way. In this volume, George R.R. Martin has created numerous new plotlines, and many POV characters who do not appear in this volume are subtly foreshadowed. It is said that a good story has its ups and downs, so this volume is probably the "down" part, and its foreshadowings are still very intriguing. I have been reading "A Song of Ice and Fire" for over half a year now, and recently I keep thinking that someone wise used to say, "We should love specific people instead of abstract ones." In my personal opinion, in the world of Ice and Fire, whether one loves specific individuals or not is a major dividing line for the author's characterization of the characters. Those who are obsessed with power or honor but do not love specific people seem to be somewhat evil, detestable, contemptible, or miserable. On the other hand, take Cersei Lannister, for example. You can say she is foolish or she does bad things, but you can't quite say she is evil or detestable because she has intense emotions for Jaime and her children. Characters are loved or hated because of what they did, rather than which House they belong to. This is perhaps one of the greatest charms of "A Song of Ice and Fire."
