The storyline goes around with the life of Lara Cameron. She was smart and ambtious since she was a little girl. With luck and intelligence, she managed to be one of the top real estate developers in the world. But the story was more than that. Lara's life was also interwined with three other men, Howard Keller, her banker, Phillip Alder, her husband and Paul Martin, her ex-lover. These three men all fell helplessly in love with her. Howard was always there for Lara. He helped Lara build up her buildings and her fame and loved Lara for her beauty and bravety. Paul Martin, Lara's old time lover, also helped Lara a lot for her business, but was a cruel and possessive person. Phillip Alder, a world-known pianist, however, was the only love for Lara. Lara loved him at first sight, and they got married after only meeting for several months. But weird things kept happening, Lara was facing liscence charges in the bid for her casino in Reno. And Phillip's left hand was stashed in a robbery. When things couldn’t be much worse, the truth revealed itself. It was Howard paid someone to give Phillip some lesson when he learned that Phillip was always on tour and didn’t care about Lara at all. And it was Paul behind the plot trying to drag Lara down when he found he can no longer have Lara. When Howard was arrested and Paul decided not to take down Lara, Lara was finally free.
Lara was a complicated character. She was daring when it came to give orders and go all out for her plans. She was never afraid of any competitors' threat and was a real iron butterfly. On the other side, she also has a very feminine side. When her colleagues got sick, she did everything she could to help them and acted totally different from she did at work. And also, she loved with all her heart to Phillip. She was so caring and loving after Phillip got attacked though herself, was facing tremendous pressure at work. So I like Lara on the whole. She was some character we can relate to in real life.
The story was great at the beginning, marverlous in the middle with some really intense charpters, O.K in the end. A good treat, anyway.
