「What I talk when I talk about running 」
I‘m seriously running now.
By seriously I mean thirty-six miles a week.
"There are sevearl reasons why, at a certain point in my life ,I stopped running seriously."
“I don't konw why,but the older you get, the busier you become.” “Probably the main reason, though ,was that at a certain point I'd simply grown tired of it.”
“The same can be said about my profession. “What's crucial is whether your writing attains the standards you've set for yourself.”
“But I knew if I did things halfheartedly ...... I'd always here regrets ."在Jazz小吧有所成就的时候,面对最感兴趣的写作,(文中表述不是为了拿奖,而是想写“I found myself wanting to write a move substantial kind of novel.)毅然决定放下有起色的小吧的生意,留出两年的空闲时间free to write ."If it doesn't work out we can always open up another little bar somewhere."
---------18% reek of smoke
A problem arose, though ,with my ...... keep physically fit."
“I think I've been able to run for more than twenty years for a sinple reason: It suits me."

解释了为什么不是说”running is great ."
“Does a runner at your level ever feel like you'd better not run today, like you don't want to run and would rather just sleep in?”-"of course, all the time!"
Sometimes the world baffles me.
Four Most of What I Know About Writing Fiction I Learn by Running Every Day
Where did their thoughts, their hopes and dreams, disappear to? When people pass away, do their thoughts just vanish?”
Talent is the prerequisite for being a novelist ,the next most important is focus-the ability to concentrate all your limited talents on whatever’s critical at the moment. The next most important thing for a novelist is, hands down, endurance.
“Most runners run not because they want to live longer, but because they want to live life to the fullest.”
Five Even if I Had a Long Ponytail Back Then
“These girls have their own pace, their own sense of time. And I have my own pace, my own sense of time.”
“If something’s worth doing, it’s worth giving it your best –or in some cases beyond your best.”
#1238“I stopped a lot to stretch…next to impossible to finish this race.”
#1355“From beginning to end the sky was completely covered with the thick gray clouds particular to this region. Like a dawdling person, the rain lingered for a long time, then finally made up its mind to turn into a downpour.
#1369“It’s pretty hard, though, to not give it your all in a race, to try to hold back.” “Being surrounded by other runners is bound to have an influence on you.”
#1783“This takes time, of course, but sometimes taking time is actually a shortcut.”
“It doesn’t matter how old I get, but as long as I continue to live I will always discover something new about myself.”
#1887“If pain weren’t involved, who in the world would ever go to the trouble of taking part in sports like the triathlon or the marathon, which demand such an investment of time and energy? It’s precisely because of the pain, precisely because we want to overcome that pain, that we can get the feeling, through this process, of really being alive-or at least a partial sense of it.”
