大意了，因为友邻评分很高，作者又是女的，所以我连简介也没看就买了，结果读了才发现是那种爹味盎然的“家书”题材，读起来就很像那种中老年男性特别喜欢写的回忆录、家书，而且还是个牧师，说教意味更重了，真不知道一个女作家怎么能写出这么爹味的书。这本书真的太爹了，和我爸一模一样，带小孩的时候只想和小孩有intellectual层面上的交流，养孩子的那些屎屁尿琐事太beneath他了，只能交给女人去做。

买了这本书N年后，最后终于在“每天坚持读两页”的计划下读完了它。她的语言看似简练但理解起来很费劲，再加上我在基督教角度和美国历史角度方面的障碍，阅读体验坎坷难捱。

废奴运动中的牧师。。又是种族平等又是基督教义，实在太美国太政治正确，robinson文笔再美都喜欢不起来。
