After considerable enjoyment and irritation - getting lost in the maze,arguing with some quarrelsome swans, falling in the river - the three men decide that being out of a boat seems a more inviting alternative. Despite being over a century old, its sparkhng insights into human - and canine - nature ensure that Three Men in a Boat is as fresh and invigorating today as when it was first published.

虽说这书是以幽默小品著名，但其中的历史感叹和哲学思考也很有味道。

典型的英式幽默，想看这本书就是因为那句“I love work so much, I can sit there and watch it all day.” 不过是一百多年前的书了，蛮多现在不常见的词汇和用法， 英文读起来又一点累。故事也比较散、节奏慢。
