罗伯特•休斯（Robert Hughes）
1938年生于澳大利亚，2012年8月去世。当代著名艺术评论家、作家、历史学家，也是电视纪录片制作人。20世纪70年代起长期住在纽约。自1970年起为《时代周刊》撰写艺术评论，其著作影响了澳大利亚乃至全世界艺术评论的发展，曾被《纽约时报》誉为世界上最著名的艺术评论家。代表作品有艺术史专著《新的冲击》（The Shock of The New）、回忆录《我不知道的那些事情》（Things I Didn’t Know）、澳大利亚流犯流放史《致命的海滩》（The Fatal Shore）等。

introduction写得很精彩，休斯站在澳洲这样一个同样后发进入“世界艺术史”（其实主要就是西方艺术史）的角度来看，对于复制、观看、话语有着一种后殖民主义，但又并非如此，更是对艺术学科及艺术美的观念及生产的探讨与质疑（很喜欢其中对大学艺术理论教育的反思）。正文部分对于艺术家的批评都很精炼，暂时只看完了现代的部分。
