罗兰·米勒（Rowland S. Miller），美国萨姆休斯顿州立大学心理学教授，1973年获康奈尔大学心理学学士学位，分别于1976年和1978年获佛罗里达大学社会心理学硕士和博士学位。自1978年至今一直在萨姆休斯顿州立大学讲授亲密关系课程，因教学与研究优秀曾获人际关系研究国际协会的教学奖、美国心理协会（APA）和国际心理学荣誉学会（Psi Chi）的 Edwin B. Newman 奖。研究兴趣包括社会心理学、社会情绪（如尴尬、耻辱）、亲密关系等，现在侧重亲密关系的维持过程。著有《亲密关系》《尴尬：日常生活中的镇定与险境》。

从“人为什么渴望亲密关系”这个议题引入，分析了其背后深层次的心理学原因。逐步展开到吸引、认同、交流、相互依赖、爱情、婚姻与性，每一个方面都涉及具体策略。每一个策略背后都有临床证据支持的有效性分析。有专门的一章讨论如何发展深刻的友谊。我觉得再也找不到另一本更好的讨论两性关系的书籍了。
