最近还在读肯尼迪竞选总统之前写的Profiles in Courage,其中引用了海明威对于勇敢的定义，勇敢就是grace under pressure. 《丧钟》这本书就是展现这样一种极端压力下如何保持优雅的，保持这种优雅的办法是不断“出戏”去想和战争无关的事而同时又清醒地意识到自己在出戏。

电影《桥》的结尾，桥炸掉了，所有人都死掉了，战争却还没有结束，一帮人感叹："这是多美的桥啊！" 书的结尾，所有人都死了，爱人也分开了，乔丹也要死了，战争还远没有结束，乔丹独自抱着一柄枪感叹："这将是多美的世界啊" 这就是海明威了。

那么一本厚书，时间跨度只有三天。没有什么多余的东西，一如既往的海明威风格。在离别的时候，也没有催泪的东西，真不愧是硬汉。

非常非常喜欢！很少从小说的技巧上感受到喜爱，但是在即将炸桥之际翻开下一页看见送信士兵的重重困难时有被惊艳到！太精炼也太有力了。以及读到这本书总会想到高中很喜欢的语文老师（还有赛博朋克2077的Jacky）。

大量的人物心理描写和回忆凑出来的不到三天三夜的故事，我也明白他写的人物的心理动态其实非常真实，就像你每天都会有的来来回回的矛盾的心理变化，但是如果不喜欢这种风格，真的会觉得海明威好啰嗦；看到第二十七章转换了主角视角后终于有点感触了，战争的残酷和无情，通过非主角的心理变化和最终遭遇来展现，以及后面几章对不同层级将领的态度的描写也挺妙的。
